Attend PDP’s free wellness talk March 6 for survivors and supporters
Prairie Dragon Paddlers is sponsoring a free wellness talk starting at 6 p.m., March 6, at the Champaign Public Library for all breast cancer survivors and supporters in the local area. This event features experts from the University of Illinois and the wellness community addressing issues concerning bone health and nutritional supplements.
Associate Professors Erik R. Nelson and Mariana E. Kersh will discuss osteoporosis and bone pain, including why some cancer therapies cause it and what you can do about it. The next talk that evening will be presented by Josie Zerrusen, dietician and manager of Namken Nutrition, about the role of nutrition as women age. There will be time for questions and discussion.
Prairie Dragon Paddlers offers periodic events open to the public as a way for breast cancer survivors in the community to learn more about health and wellness and to meet other survivors.
Doors open for this event at 5:45 p.m. in the Robeson Pavilion Rooms A and B at the Champaign Public Library, 200 W. Green St., Champaign, IL. No registration is required.
